The School District of Aiken County, South Carolina, is the administrative unit serving the majority of the school-age population in North Augusta. Aiken County is the sixth largest school district in the state and is made up of five administrative areas. Students residing in the Edgefield County portion of the North Augusta city limits attend Edgefield County Schools.
The Aiken County District performance ranks among the 10 highest performing districts in the state, with 80-85% of the students meeting or exceeding state standards. In 2006-07, the district SAT average was 1010, 25 points above the state score.
Students in the North Augusta Area are served by three elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools. Each of these schools is accredited by the South Carolina Department of Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. North Augusta High School is an International Baccalaureate School, offering a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum designed to provide students with a balanced education, to promote geographic and cultural mobility, and to promote understanding through a shared academic experience.
