It is the mission of the North Augusta Department of Public Safety to provide exemplary police and fire services to the citizens in its jurisdiction. The members of the department strive to be professional, fair and responsive to the community they serve. It is our goal that each officer's performance will earn them the respect, confidence and trust of the citizens of the City of North Augusta.
About The Department
The North Augusta Department of Public Safety provides both police and fire services to the citizens of North Augusta. The Department employs 50 sworn public safety officers, six full-time firefighters and 20 volunteer firefighters. All public safety officers are cross-trained in police and fire duties and serve as emergency first-responders, resulting in an efficient, cost-effective program with maximum utilization of personnel. In addition to general police and fire services, the Department of Public Safety is responsible for Records Management, Safety Management and operates a Criminal Investigations Division.

Community Involvement
Community involvement is an important component of public safety in North Augusta.
The Department recently implemented a local Project Lifesaver program, designed to help track individuals with special needs such as Alzheimer's Disease or Autism.
