The City of North Augusta provides potable water service to 27,840 residential, commercial and industrial customers through 11,626 service connections in the city and its surrounding areas. The city's 24 square mile service area is bounded on the north by Interstate 20 and to the west by the Savannah River. This boundary has been established by a series of water agreements with surrounding water providers, including Edgefield County Water and Sewer Authority, Breezy Hill Water and Sewer District, and Valley Public Service Authority.

North Augusta's water supply is pumped from the Savannah River to the city's surface water treatment facility which has the capability of treating and producing 14 million gallons of water per day. The city's water distribution system consists of 195 miles of water lines, five elevated and three ground storage tanks with a combined storage capacity of 5.05 million gallons of water.
