The Engineering
Department is responsible for reviewing all residential and
commercial construction plans and permit applications to ensure
compliance with city development and construction standards.
The Department reviews applications and issues permits for
encroachments within the public right-of-way. The Engineering
Department provides technical support to other city departments
as needed. It is also responsible for assisting area residents
with their concerns and problems relating to the city's public
infrastructure.
Besides
these daily activities, the Engineering Department manages
the city's Capital Improvement Program for water and sewer
projects.
The
city has a licensed Professional Engineer, an Engineer-In-Training
and an Engineering Technician in the Engineering Department.
