The Information Technology Department is charged with providing technological solutions to employees of the City of North Augusta.

Information Technology oversees the organization's information technology infrastructure. The physical part of the infrastructure includes the city's computer system, a wide range of network and internet services and the city's voice and data network.

Information Technology has implemented a Novell Netware TCP/IP wide-area network that connects municipal offices across the city on a central backbone. We are committed to groupware and internet/intranet solutions that will enable our employees to communicate and collaborate effectively.

IT operates in an environment that includes Novell Netware and Microsoft Windows 2000 Server. The tools and applications used by Information Technology include Novell Groupwise, Border Manager, WebAccess and Zenworks.

Information Technology is organized into five principal groups:

Operations - Oversees systems software, operations and security, administration and disaster planning.
