The City of North Augusta’s 6 million gallon per day (MGD) Water Treatment Plant constructed in 2000 is being expanded and upgraded to produce up to 12 million gallons of drinking water per day. The $16,688,100 project provides for the addition of a 6 MGD water treatment module, chemical processing equipment and control buildings. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2017, at which time the City’s very first Water Treatment Plant constructed in 1954 will retire after providing 64 years of service.
