Instructions for the use of Online Mapping Drawing Map Layers
On the right side of the screen is the Layer List, a list of the information layers that are currently available. To view a layer, click in the square button on the left of the name of the layer then click Refresh Map bar at the bottom of the Layer List. To activate a layer so that you can retrieve the information it contains, you must also click in the round button just to the left of the layer name.
There are some layers that are not displayed in the Layer List in all map scales or views. For example, the layers for road names and building footprints do not appear until the map is zoomed in to a scale where the layer features are discernable.
Parcel Information
To locate information about a parcel (owner, owners address, tax parcel number, size, zoning, etc.) you must initiate a query of the City of North Augusta tax parcel data. First click (using your left mouse button) in both the square and round buttons to the left of the Parcels (Polygon) name in the Layer List on the right side of your screen. Then click on the Identify button in the toolbox on the left side of the screen.
Then click on any parcel shown on the map. The information contained in the database related to that parcel will be displayed below the map.
Parcel Query
To initiate a query of the City of North Augusta tax parcel data, first click (using your left mouse button) in both the square and round buttons to the left of the Parcels (Polygon) name in the layer list on the right side of your screen. Then click on the Parcel Search button in the toolbox on the left side of the screen.
This will start your query. Now you can choose the field that you want to query for information (Parcel Number [Tax ID], Name [Owner], Street Name[Owners Mailing Address]) from the drop down list below the map. Then type in the value of the information you wish to locate. Note: the exact value (spelling, abbreviation, punctuation, etc.) must be entered in capital letters to generate an accurate response.
Toolbox Buttons and Tools
Toggle Legend. When you click this icon the legend will replace the layer list. Click again and it will switch back to the layer list.
Toggle Overview. When you click this tool the overview map disappears. Click again and it comes back.
Identify. Click this and the click on any feature in the active layer to list its attributes.
Pan. Click this and then click, hold down your mouse key, and then drag the map to a new location.
Zoom In.
Zoom Out.
Zoom to Extent. Zoom to the extent of the whole map (the entire city).
Zoom to Active Layer. Zoom to the extent of the active layer.
Find. This will let you search for text in your active layer in the order to locate something in particular.
Print. Prints the map shown in the screen.
