North Augusta 2000 was established by a group of community and civic-minded citizens working to improve the community. Former North Augusta Mayor Tom Greene is Chair; Chuck Smith, Edward Jones Investments, is Co-Chair; and Dave Belkoski, University Heath Care System, is Treasurer.

What are the goals of the current North Augusta 2000 fundraising initiative?
The goal of the current campaign is $2,000,000.
As of our kick-off, 8/27/07, we are well on our way with $1,084,200.
The new campaign will fund initiatives 2007-2011 in the following categories:
- Economic Development - Revitalization and Quality Growth
- Education - Preparing for the Future of North Augusta
- Community Engagement - Partnership to Connect Citizens (formerly Quality of Life)
- Recreation, Culture, and History – The Benefits of Community (formerly Parks and Recreation).
The goal of the original plan (2001-2006) was to raise $1,550,000 to implement the first five-year initiative comprised of four broad focus areas: Economic Development, Education, Quality of Life, and Parks & Recreation. We successfully completed our initial funding campaign in August 2001.
How will the funds raised by North Augusta 2000 be used?
Funding is used to implement individual initiatives as described in the four oversight areas and is based on an annual budget prepared by each Oversight Committee Chair and approved by the Board.
How will the initiatives of North Augusta 2000 be implemented?
An Oversight Committee of three to four Board members manages each of the four general areas of the five-year program. Sub-committees work to implement the initiatives with over 200 community volunteers, civic groups and partnerships with other agencies.
Who are the beneficiaries of the North Augusta 2000 initiative?
The citizens of the North Augusta/Augusta, Aiken County and the CSRA, as well as the many businesses and industries that are located in the CSRA, and their employees.

Each pledge to the North Augusta 2000 fundraising effort has been carefully considered and evaluated. A volunteer executive will contact you to arrange an appointment to answer questions you may have about North Augusta 2000 and to discuss your investment.
