North Augusta's seventh annual Kids Earth Day will be Saturday, April 19 at Lions Memorial Field in North Augusta! Dozens of exhibitors will share information and activities about plants, animals and the environment.
This year, PalmettoPride and the Columbia Marionette Theatre will present two performances (11:00am and 12:30pm) of Litter Trashes Everyone!, a puppet show designed to teach children (and adults) that every citizen has a responsibility to help keep the earth clean and beautiful. SCDHEC's giant EarthBall will be in play, as well as creatures from the Savannah River Ecology Lab, NBC Augusta meteorologist Jeff Rucker and team, and much, much more! Admission to the event this year is one (empty) aluminum can. Last year, more than 50 pounds of aluminum cans were collected for recycling!
