The City of North Augusta opened its new Riverview Park Splash Pad on August 2, 2019. The new 120' x 50' Splash Pad sits adjacent to the Adaptive Playground in the center of Riverview Park. The Splash Pad is designed for children up to twelve years old and is open 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. seven days a week.
The South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism issued a grant through the Recreation & Trails Program for the 2018/2019 grant cycle to refurbish a deteriorating section of the North Augusta Greeneway. The area of concentration will be from Center Street heading North towards the Activities Center. The project is currently under construction. Construction is anticipated to be complete by August 9, 2019.
The City of North Augusta desires to construct a park on a 2.10 acre parcel adjacent to SRP Park. The project is currently out to bid and construction is expected to start in 2019.
The Riverview Park Activities Center received a flooring upgrade in the Summer of 2019.
Riverview Park will be welcoming street lighting along Riverview Park Drive from the entrance at San Salvador Drive to Hammonds Ferry Road. The parking lots near the tennis courts and playground will also gain some attention with parking lot lights.
The Request for Proposal is scheduled to go out in late Spring of 2019 with the project completion date slated by the Fall of 2019.
The Riverview Park Tennis Courts tennis area has funding earmarked for upgrades.
Currently, these upgrades are in the planning stages and the City of North Augusta looks forward to these improvements.
