Welcome to the Central Savannah River Area

Whether this is your first deployment to Fort Gordon or you're returning from another station, the City of North Augusta would like to welcome you to the CSRA. It is our honor and privilege to serve those who serve us, and we hope that during your stay you'll have a chance to come and explore everything North Augusta has to offer. We are committed to providing our service members and their families with a great place to live, to play, and to grow. Below, you'll find some information and links that we think might be helpful for anyone new to the area.

North Augusta lies just over the Savannah River from downtown Augusta, Georgia. To get here, we recommend coming out of Gate 5 and taking Dean's Bridge Road to the 520, which goes around the traffic. Here's a map! Incidentally this is also the route you'll take to get to Augusta Regional Airport, and depending on the time of day it can be the fastest way to get to Downtown Augusta.

Things To Do!

The North Augusta Greeneway is the jewel of the city and is easily accessed from several places. It currently stretches 12.5 miles from north of I-20 all the way to Georgia Avenue with several branches that reach out and connect to neighborhoods along the way. It also passes through Riverview Park, Hammond's Ferry, and in 2016 the brand new GreenJackets stadium!

The Nike Peach Jam and the Savannah River Paddle Fest are just two of the annual events to check out in North Augusta. There's also the Living History Park, The Center for Arts & Heritage, the Jack-o-Lantern Jubilee, the half marathon and many more. Our calendar has a list of upcoming events everywhere in the city, so check back anytime you're looking for something to do.

North Augusta is a great place to live. We have a very low crime rate, good schools, and excellent access to medical, educational, and recreational facilities, not to mention downtown Augusta, GA. If you're looking for off-base housing and riverfront living appeals to you then you might want to consider making North Augusta your new home.
